About Alamo Comfort

Straight Answers, Not a Sales Pitch

We’re Alamo Comfort, the heating and cooling company San Antonio homeowners call when they want someone to tell them straight what’s wrong, not hand them an invoice for a whole new system and drive off. We repair, replace, and maintain every part of your HVAC system, through the 100° summers and the odd hard freeze alike.

Our rule is simple: fix what can be fixed, say so plainly when it can’t, and put the price in writing first. Most brands already warranty the parts. It’s the labor that catches people off guard, and that’s the part we take off your plate with our labor warranty of up to 10 years.

Every System Your Home Runs On

Cooling, heating, air quality and light commercial. One honest team for all of it.

Alamo Comfort technician checking refrigerant gauges on an outdoor AC condenser in San Antonio, TXCooling

Cooling Services

Your AC runs eight months a year here, and it never quits at a good time. Call us, and we'll find what's wrong: a worn part, a refrigerant leak, a clogged drain line, and show you what we found before we quote a price, and fix it right the first time. Need a new system? Rusty sizes it himself and backs the install with a labor warranty of up to ten years. We work on whatever brand you've got, and we put in what fits your home, not what pays us more. No commission, no pushing a unit you don't need.

What we handle

Alamo Comfort technicians installing a furnace in a San Antonio garageHeating

Heating Services

Our winters are short, but a furnace that's sat idle since spring won't warn you before it quits on the coldest night. We spot the problem, walk you through your options, and get the heat back on the same visit when we can. Replacing it? We size it to your home and put it in right, a good install beats a fancy unit installed wrong, every time.

Indoor Air Quality Services

Gulf humidity doesn't stay outside; it works its way into your home all summer, and your AC can only do so much. We measure the humidity and airflow first, then match the fix to your home. Whole-home dehumidifiers, better filters, UV light at the coil, equipment that treats the air where the system moves it, not plug-in gadgets, so every room feels it.

Licensed and Certified HVAC Contractor in San Antonio

Licensed and Certified: Here's What That Means

Every HVAC company in San Antonio says "licensed and insured." Here is what each credential is, and the specific way it protects you and your house.

Texas HVAC Contractor License · TACLB 110532E

State-Licensed & Insured

Texas requires a licensed contractor for all HVAC work, earned through testing, proven field experience, and maintained insurance. We hold ours and can show it.

Why it protects youThe work meets state code, so it won’t void your equipment warranty or fail an inspection at resale. If something goes wrong on the job, the liability sits with us, not with you or your homeowner’s insurance.

EPA-608 Certified

Legal to Handle Refrigerant

Federal law under the Clean Air Act makes it illegal to handle refrigerant without this certification, because mishandled refrigerant is both an environmental hazard and a system killer.

Why it protects youYour AC and heat pump are charged and serviced correctly. No leaks left sitting, no shortcuts that shorten system life. A correctly charged unit runs more efficiently and lasts longer.

The Alamo Comfort standard

We Don't Make Promises. We Do the Work.

Every HVAC company in town promises the world. We'd rather skip the promises, tell you what we do, and let the work back it up: clear numbers, no fine print, the same fair price for everyone.

"We've got New York-owned competitors. A lot of our competitors come in and just say, you just need a unit. We don't always do that."

Rusty Hoermann · Owner

01We repair what other companies tell you to replace

Another company quotes a whole new system; we find the one worn part behind it. More often than not, you get a repair, not a replacement you never needed.

02Our techs work for a paycheck, not a commission

Nobody here earns a nickel more for selling you equipment. The advice you get is what your system needs, not what pads a sales sheet.

03A labor warranty of up to 10 years

Every brand warranties the parts. The labor? Covered for up to ten years when we did the install.

04Owned by a San Antonio family, run from San Antonio

The name on the truck is the name that answers. Decisions about your home get made here.

05The owner answers for it

Rusty stays close to every install estimate. No commissioned closer between you and a straight answer.

Hire Alamo Comfort and you're hiring me.

I'm Rusty Hoermann. I own this company, I answer for it, and I stay close to every new system we put in. We're San Antonio-owned and family-run, and I don't take that lightly.

Behind me is a team with 40-plus years of combined HVAC experience, and my job is making sure the right people show up and the work holds up. Local, honest, and here for the long haul.

"I'm not chasing one-off jobs; I'm building the company you call for the next system, and the one after that."

Two plans, named for Texans who held the line.

Twice-a-year maintenance keeps small failures from becoming summer emergencies. Pick the plan, we handle the calendar.

Both plans are part of the Alamo Comfort Club, our maintenance membership for San Antonio homeowners.

Both plans require continuous, uninterrupted membership to stay valid. The William B. Travis plan's additional 1-year labor warranty on part repairs holds only while your membership stays active.

Your AC Doesn't Clock Out. Neither Does Our Phone.

Break Down After Hours? Someone's Still Up.

When the cooling quits on a Saturday or the heat drops out on the coldest night, you won't get a voicemail and a “call us Monday.” You get a person, your details taken down, and a spot at the front of the line.

From your call to a technician

Our phone pulls the night shift; our trucks don't. Call at midnight and your no-cool July or no-heat freeze jumps to the top of the schedule, so you're first up when the workday clocks in, not stuck waiting till next week.

One call, and it's handled

Whether it's the middle of a July afternoon or the middle of the night, you've got one number to call and one team that answers for it. Save it now, the day your AC quits isn't the day to go shopping for who fixes it.

Rather talk it through now? Call (210) 202-0255

HVAC Questions, Answered

Answers before you call.

Got one we didn't cover?

Call and ask
Do you service my area?
We cover San Antonio and all of Bexar County, TX, with most of our work on the North Side: Alamo Heights, Olmos Park, Stone Oak, Castle Hills and nearby. Not sure you're in range? Give us a call and we'll tell you straight.
Will you push me toward a whole new system?
No. We fix what can be fixed and only bring up a replacement when the numbers say so. Our techs don't work on commission, so nobody here earns more for talking you into a new unit.
What does a diagnostic cost?
We charge one flat diagnostic fee, quoted before we come out, and it comes off your bill when you go ahead with the repair. Phone estimates and in-home estimates for a new system are free.
What's your warranty?
A labor warranty of up to 10 years on the systems we install. Most companies only offer 1 or 2. Keep it maintained and don't let another company service it, and the repair labor's covered for up to a decade.
Can you come out for an emergency?
Someone answers any hour, day or night. We won't roll a truck at 2 a.m., but urgent no-cool and no-heat calls jump to the top of the schedule and get handled first when the workday starts.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Financing through Synchrony for qualified buyers, subject to approval, with terms that vary. Ask when we quote your system and we'll walk you through it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. A licensed Texas HVAC contractor (TACLB 110532E) and EPA-608 certified, so your work meets state code and the liability sits with us.
